Ideation: People strong in the Ideation theme are fascinated by ideas. They are able to find connections between seemingly disparate phenomena. Here are the questions:

1. When do you get to use this strength at work? In what activities? In planning for training sessions I strive to be innovative and to keep the sessions dynamic. I dislike the cookie cutter mentality of "same ole same ole". In working with the Uniserv Academy I try to look at the role of the Uniserv Director to see how the role is changing, to see what new ideas are out there. What are the best practices of successful UD's? I look for possibilities to include these into training sessions.

I look for "edgy" stuff and attempt to make them practical and provacative by thinking of ways to apply them to staff work in the field. I feel that connecting process to content and making it relevant is critical to having a successful Uniserv Academy.

2. How often do you get to use this strength? Often, as we are constantly developing or delivering training. Our goal in ALE is to keep things current and relevant.

3. When and how has this strength proved really helpful to you on the job? It allows me to have new and fresh ways to do my work. As I mentioned, I dislike the cookie cutter approach and keeping training dynamic is important to me.

4. What feedback, if any, have you received about this strength? I get asked to be on work teams a lot and to be involved in planning new sessions. I am told that I have a creative mind and that is valued. I also receive feedback that I must control my ideas as implementing them is sometimes difficult due to time constraints.

I visited my family in Japan last week and went to the famous Tsukiji Fish Market.
